Is it obligatory to denounce someone who swears by the Prophet or anything else, or is advice alone sufficient?

Swearing by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is either forbidden or disliked, and the more preponderant opinion is that it is forbidden.

Explaining this ruling to those who do it is a good thing, because it is commendable to avoid scholarly disagreement.

Therefore, one must advise those who do so and clarify that many scholars consider it forbidden, and that authentic hadiths have prohibited swearing by anyone other than Allah the Almighty.
