Giving salutations (Tasleem) is a Sunnah when leaving a gathering, for Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "When one of you arrives at a gathering, let him give salutations. And when he wishes to depart, let him give salutations. The first is no more deserving than the second." Narrated by At-Tirmidhi, who said: This is a Hasan (good) Hadith.
