What is the ruling on consuming or using the wealth of sea pirates?

If the entirety of pirates' (thieves') wealth is usurped, then it is not permissible to eat from it except for one who is compelled by necessity, due to its complete unlawfulness and its remaining under the ownership of its rightful owner. However, if their unlawful wealth is mixed with lawful wealth, then it is permissible to eat from it with slight disapproval (makrooh), and not everything becomes forbidden by its mixing.
