Is the Hadith "Eating in the marketplace is a debasement" authentic? And is eating in the marketplace forbidden if a person is hungry or in a public place?

The hadith "Eating in the marketplace is ignobility" has a weak chain of transmission and is not authentic due to the presence of a liar in its chain. It is contradicted by the hadith of Ibn Umar: "We used to eat during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while walking, and drink while standing." Ibn al-Arabi, al-Qurtubi, and al-Shawkani ruled it to be fabricated, and Al-Albani included it in Al-Silsilah al-Da'ifah (The Chain of Weak Narrations). Therefore, no legal ruling can be based upon it. However, if eating in public places is considered a نقص (blemish) in society according to the customs of the country and is regarded as a breach of murūʾah (chivalry/ decorum), then it should be avoided.
