What is your opinion on al-tajreeḥ wa al-taʿdeel (discrediting and accrediting narrators), what are its conditions, and should students be exposed to it, or should they avoid it?

The science of Jarh and Ta'deel (discrediting and accrediting) is a branch of Hadith science, through which accepted and rejected narrations are identified. Only the most distinguished and deeply learned Hadith scholars, upon whom contemporary scholars rely, are qualified to undertake it. Students should engage in it once they have acquired the necessary knowledge, as it is a collective obligation (fard kifayah). As for those who have not acquired the necessary knowledge, they should not occupy themselves with it.
