Is my communication with my fiancé via Facebook without my family's knowledge, justified by the necessity of agreeing on marriage matters and getting to know each other's dispositions, while pledging not to violate Sharia, considered Haram?

Shaykh Ibn Baz held the view that it is permissible for a suitor to speak with his fiancée out of necessity for the benefit of the marriage, without requiring the parents' permission. This includes inquiring about her well-being, profession, and similar matters, as well as affairs related to the interest of the marriage, provided that the conversation does not involve anything prohibited or suspicious that could lead to seclusion or cooperation in a forbidden act.
