Is a mother sinning if she translates to her grandmother what is being said on TV, knowing that she loves to recite the Quran and her grandmother does not understand what is being said?

The issue is not with the mother translating what is shown on television to her mother, but rather with the grandmother being preoccupied with watching. At this age, it is more fitting for her to advance in worship and strive to gather provisions for the day of departure. The scholars in the land of Malik realized this, and they would seclude themselves from people after the age of forty. Similarly, Allah has given an excuse to those whose life He has extended to sixty years, as there is no excuse for them after this age to abandon obedience. Therefore, the grandmother should be advised to engage in prayer, remembrances (dhikr), reading the Quran, and supplication (du'a). The mother must not translate anything forbidden to her grandmother and should prevent her from watching impermissible content.
