What is the ruling on holding circles of remembrance (dhikr), glorification (tasbih), and collective recitation of the Qur’an?

Reciting dhikr and tasbih in congregation in circles is an innovation (bid'ah) because it deviates from the guidance of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and his Companions. The same applies to reciting the Qur'an in congregation with one voice, unless each person recites to themselves, or they take turns reciting while the rest listen.
