Is it permissible to sell a commodity before possessing it if its price has been received and the commodity is well-known?

If the goods are specific and the seller enables you to take possession of them, and the impediments are removed, then this is considered as constructive possession according to many scholars. It is also permissible for the buyer to authorize the seller to take possession of the commodity from himself. If one of these two things occurs (constructive possession, or authorizing the seller to take possession), then there is no objection to selling it before it is transported. It is also permissible for the second buyer to be authorized to take possession of the commodity on behalf of the first buyer, provided that it is not a trick to engage in usury, and the sale here is for cash, not on credit.
