How can one return to Allah after backsliding from repentance, feeling repulsion towards religion, and losing the fear of Allah's punishment?

What befell you by way of heedlessness is due to the dominance of Satan and your persistence in transgression. Therefore, you must hasten to sincere repentance, for the door of repentance is open. To help you achieve humility and fear of Allah, reflect on death and its terrors, and imagine yourself standing before Allah. Sense the greatness of Allah, read verses and hadiths of warning, and associate with righteous people. Abandon the whispers of Satan and his attempts to make worship burdensome, and strive against yourself, for Allah says: "And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways." The burdensome feeling of worship is from Satan's beautification, for a good life is attained under religiosity, as Allah Almighty said: "Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely grant him a good life." Do not abandon supplication and seeking refuge with Allah, for He alone can keep you steadfast on righteousness.
