Do money and children bring happiness, and did Allah command us to strive for happiness in this world?

True happiness lies in utilizing blessings to obey Allah, by earning lawful money and spending it on good deeds, and by raising children well so that they may be a comfort to the eyes, as Allah Almighty says: "Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and our offspring comfort to our eyes and make us leaders for the righteous." Wealth and children can be a source of misery, as mentioned in His saying: "Let not their wealth and their children impress you. Allah only intends to punish them through them in worldly life and for their souls to depart while they are disbelievers."
