Is it permissible to gather for a complete iftar meal in the mosque for one day during Ramadan with the intention of fostering connection and camaraderie, or is this considered an innovation (bid‘ah)?

The exchange of gifts among Muslims is not considered an innovation (bid'ah); rather, it is legislated to increase affection and camaraderie between them. Allah the Almighty bestowed a favor upon His Prophet by uniting the hearts of the believers, which indicates its great importance, as stated in His saying: (And He united their hearts. If you had spent all that was in the earth, you could not have united their hearts, but Allah united them). And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: (Be, O servants of Allah, brothers). And everything that causes affection among Muslims is legislated.
