Does supplication in bowing (Ruku') and prostration (Sujud) invalidate the prayer, based on the Quran and Sunnah?

Supplicating during bowing (rukūʿ) and prostration (sujūd) does not invalidate the prayer, due to the action of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as authentically reported from Aisha and Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with them both. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, also encouraged abundant supplication during prostration, saying: "The closest a servant is to his Lord is while he is prostrating, so increase in supplication."
