Is it permissible to buy clothes for my daughter from the remaining amount of her monthly allowance, knowing that she has a semi-annual clothing allowance?

The maintenance of children is obligatory upon the father by the Qur’an, Sunnah (definition), and scholarly consensus. It includes food, drink, clothing, medicine, and education, and its amount is determined by what is customary. If the father sends an amount exceeding the maintenance for clothing, it is not permissible to use the surplus for clothes. Instead, he must be consulted to decide the fate of this amount, whether it is saved for the daughter, returned to him, or permission is given to purchase other necessities. If the maintenance was estimated by a judge and it becomes clear that his estimation was incorrect, with the amount exceeding the need, then the surplus must be returned to the father or his permission sought to save it or spend it on other matters, because "there is no weight given to a clear error in assumption."
