The was narrated by Ahmad and Al-Bayhaqi. Some Hadith scholars graded it as (good) due to its multiple chains of transmission, while the majority tended to classify it as da'if (weak). Al-Maqdisi pointed out its weakness, and Al-Kinani quoted Al-Bukhari as weakening 'Abdullah ibn Kinanah, one of its narrators. Al-Bayhaqi mentioned that the Hadith has many corroborating reports (shawāhid), and if they are authentic, they provide proof; otherwise, Allah forgives everything short of (associating partners with Him).
