Is it permissible to eat from the food of a brother who does not pray?

It is permissible to eat from the food of one who does not pray, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ate from the food of polytheists and accepted the hospitality of a Jewish woman. Nevertheless, he should be advised to preserve his prayers, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The covenant between us and them is prayer; whoever abandons it has disbelieved," and he also said: "Between a man and polytheism or disbelief is the abandonment of prayer." If he persists in abandoning prayer and it is seen that shunning him will lead him to perform it, then he should be shunned, and his food and visits should be avoided.
