What is the ruling on a husband who wrongs his wife and does nothing to appease her, knowing that the wife is commanded to appease her husband before sleep, whether she is the wronged or the wrongdoer?

Each spouse must treat the other with kindness, fulfill all their rights, and not oppress them. This is based on Allah’s Almighty saying: "And live with them in kindness," and His saying: "And due to them is similar to what is due from them, in a reasonable manner." Both spouses must also strive to appease the other when they are angry. If the husband has wronged his wife, he must repent. A condition for this repentance is to seek her forgiveness and pardon, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever has wronged his brother concerning his honor or anything else, let him seek his forgiveness today before there is no dinar or dirham."
