A woman passed away, leaving behind two daughters and a brother. What is the inheritance of each?

The inheritance of the deceased woman who has a daughter and a brother is distributed as follows: The daughter receives two-thirds as her prescribed share, based on the Almighty's saying: "But if there are [only] daughters, two or more, for them is two-thirds of what he left." The remaining one-third goes to her brother if he is a full brother or a brother by the father's side, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Give the prescribed shares to those who are entitled to them, and whatever remains is for the closest male heir." However, if he is only a brother by the mother's side, he does not inherit in this case due to the presence of a lineal descendant heir. In this situation, the remainder would go to the closest agnate (male relative) among the paternal uncles or their sons.

It is imperative to note the seriousness and complexity of inheritance matters. A mere fatwa (religious edict) is not sufficient; rather, the matter must be referred to the Sharia courts for investigation and to ensure there are no other heirs, wills, debts, or other rights that take precedence over the heirs' rights.
