What is required to be consumed of food is that which preserves a Muslim's strength and empowers him to obey Allah, because a strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than a weak believer. A Muslim is not obligated to abstain from food or reduce it if that leads to his weakness and lack of concentration. Rather, he should be moderate and avoid extravagance.
