Caring for the Prophet's biography (peace be upon him) is considered among the best sciences, due to its effect in increasing love for the Prophet (peace be upon him) and emulating him, both of which are signs of faith.

Works on the Prophet's biography vary into two approaches: 1. Focusing on verifying facts and events: Among the most famous books is "Seerat Ibn Hisham," which has been abridged and شرحed. There is also an interest in distinguishing the authentic from the weak narrations in the Sirah. Among the prominent books in this regard are "Al-Seerah (definition) Al-Nabawiyyah" by Ibn Kathir, and "Sharh Al-Zurqani ala Al-Mawahib Al-Ladunniyyah." Among contemporary books that focused on this are: "Al-Seerah Al-Nabawiyyah Al-Sahihah" by Akram Diya' Al-Umari, and "Al-Lu'lu' Al-Maknun fi Seerat Al-Nabi Al-Ma'mun" by Musa bin Rashid Al-Azmi. Useful audio and visual series also exist, such as "Kunooz min Al-Seerah Al-Nabawiyyah" by Sheikh Othman Al-Khamis. 2.
