The answer

As long as the marriage has fulfilled its conditions and pillars—namely, offer, acceptance, witnesses, and the absence of impediments for both spouses—it is considered concluded, and the woman becomes a wife, even if the contract has not been officially documented.

If the man wishes to separate from the woman before consummation, he must divorce her. She becomes irrevocably separated from him the moment he utters the divorce pronouncement. He is obligated to pay her half of the agreed-upon dowry, both its immediate and deferred portions.

It is advisable to document the marriage due to the potential harms and loss of rights that may result from its absence.
