Does the divorce of the one afflicted with obsessive doubts, who divorced his wife with an unreal intention due to obsessive doubting, take effect, knowing that a judge and a mufti have issued a fatwa to him that the divorce does not take effect because he is considered to be under duress, but he was not convinced by that?

One asks Allah for healing and well-being for the sick person, and advises him to completely turn away from obsessive thoughts and not pay attention to them, as this is one of the best ways to treat them. It is permissible to adopt the fatwa of a trustworthy mufti to achieve a legitimate benefit, such as adopting the fatwa of Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen that divorce does not occur during the 'iddah (waiting period).
