What is the ruling on one who is unable to erase his sins?

Sins are forgiven through sincere repentance, for Allah has promised to accept the repentance of those who repent and to pardon evil deeds, as indicated by the legal texts. Scholars have mentioned that "Al-Afuw" (The Pardoner) is one of Allah's Beautiful Names, meaning the One who erases evil deeds and overlooks them. Sins are expiated by certain acts of obedience such as prayer, fasting, Hajj, and attending gatherings of remembrance. These expiations are general for minor sins. As for major sins, they require specific repentance, and sins related to the rights of people require satisfying those whose rights have been infringed upon.
