Is it permissible to name a newborn girl "Odette," a foreign name which means "wealth" or "affluence" and has no association with polytheism (shirk)?

It is not permissible to name a newborn girl with the German name "Odette" due to its implication of admiration for disbelievers and the revival of their memory, as it is a name specific to them. Sheikh Ibn Jibreen clarified that imitating disbelievers in their names indicates their glorification and love. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid such names and seek out good names from among the names of Muslims, in accordance with the hadith: "Indeed, you will be called on the Day of Resurrection by your names and your fathers' names, so make your names good."
