Is it permissible to make up for a missed day from the previous Ramadan two days before the current Ramadan?

If a Muslim breaks their fast in Ramadan without a valid excuse, they have committed a major sin that necessitates sincere repentance and making up for the day. If the breaking of the fast was due to intercourse, then expiation (kaffarah) is also required in addition to making up for the day.

However, if the breaking of the fast was due to a valid excuse, there is no sin upon them, and they must make up for the day before the next Ramadan.

Making up for the day two days before Ramadan is permissible and does not contradict the prophetic prohibition, as it is an obligatory fast that has a reason. Similarly, voluntary fasting is exempted from the prohibition for those who have a regular habit of doing so.
