Does the bond between Allah and His servant get severed if he makes a vow and does not fulfill it?
Whoever vows an act of obedience to Allah is obligated to fulfill it. If one is unable to fulfill it due to an inability that is not expected to cease, then he must offer expiation of an oath. And whoever is able to fulfill it but does not do so has disobeyed Allah. This does not sever the connection between him and Allah the Almighty, for Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. However, he must beware of Allah's punishment and displeasure, for he is subject to accountability for that sin, and because sins and transgressions have severe harms and dire consequences.
