Shortening prayers is permissible on the return journey until one reaches Jeddah, but it is not permissible to avail oneself of the concessions of travel after arriving there. It is permissible to break the fast while commuting between work and home. If one's movement is continuous at sea during work, they are considered a traveler, and it is permissible for them to avail themselves of the concessions of travel until their return to Jeddah.
