I was wondering about the Shariah objectives for humanitarian relief work in Islam?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Relief work is an authentic Islamic objective and a noble humanitarian act. It falls under the category of good deeds that Islam encourages. Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, bow and prostrate and worship your Lord and do good that you may succeed." And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged good deeds in general and aiding the distressed in particular, as in the hadith: "He helps the one in need, the distressed." Charitable and relief work includes every living being, as per the hadith: "For every wet liver (living creature) there is a reward."
