Is Hafs' narration on the authority of Asim successively transmitted from the Companions? Was Hafs unique in narrating it, or did others narrate it as well? Is it successively transmitted by the consensus of the Ummah?

The narration of Hafs from Asim, like the other ten recitations, has been transmitted generation after generation, a view held by scholars. Ibn al-Jazari mentioned that the ten recitations are mass-transmitted (mutawatir), both in their fundamental principles (usool) and their specific textual variations (farsh). He clarified that the notion suggesting a lack of mass transmission for the seven recitations is incorrect, and that the misconception arose from the confinement of their chains of transmission to well-known individuals. However, the mass transmission is indeed established because the people of each region received the Quran from a large multitude. A great number of reciters narrated from Asim, besides Hafs, including Al-A'mash and Abu Bakr bin Ayyash.
