Acting the role of a patient in purposeful scenes intended for medical or other beneficial guidance and instruction is permissible, and it does not fall under the category of feigning illness, which is prohibited. This is supported by the story of the angel who appeared to the leper in his form and appearance, as narrated in the noble Hadith. Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen mentioned that the angel acted the role of a poor and leprous man, even though he was not actually so. Ibn Uthaymeen clarified that acting is not considered a lie if it does not involve anything unlawful, and if the audience knows that the actor is not the character he is portraying.
