Is it permissible to embrace the Mus'haf out of love for the word of Allah, knowing that the doer does not intend thereby an innovation?

Clasping the Mushaf to the chest is like kissing it, and the difference of opinion regarding the ruling on kissing it likely applies to it. It is better to refrain from that, due to the lack of evidence for it.
