Is the hadith that states that Imru' al-Qays is in the Fire authentic?
Weak hadiths have been narrated concerning Imru' al-Qays, among them what is stated in Musnad al-Imam Ahmad and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir by al-Tabarani from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said of him: "That is a man mentioned in this world, forgotten in the Hereafter; noble in this world, obscure in the Hereafter. He will come on the Day of Resurrection with the banner of poets in his hand, leading them to the Fire." Al-Arna'ut and Al-Albani have graded its chain of narration as weak.
