How authentic is the hadith: "in a shallow pool of fire" which was narrated concerning Abu Talib, the uncle of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, and what is its meaning?

Abu Talib is in a shallow pool of fire because he protected the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and defended him. The story of Abu Talib's benefit is authentically established in the Two Sahihs and other collections, and the statement: "Were it not for me, he would have been in the lowest depth of the Fire" indicates a lightening of his torment. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not write the hadiths himself; rather, he would utter them, and his companions would transmit them from him.
