If a worshipper speaks after the Tasleem and before performing the obligatory prostration of forgetfulness (Sujud al-Sahw), does their prayer become invalidated?

If a worshiper forgets to perform the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw), the scholarly opinions can be summarized as follows: their prayer is not invalidated unless they deliberately omit a mandatory prostration that is performed before the salam, and they have no intention of performing it after the salam (according to the Hanbali school). However, if they remember the prostration after the salam and after speaking, but before a long interval has passed, they may perform it. The Hanafis hold that all prostrations of forgetfulness are performed after the salam. If one speaks before performing it, the prostration is missed, but the prayer is not invalidated, because it is a duty whose omission does not invalidate the prayer.
