Does the ground become impure when walked upon with a wet foot after having walked on an impure carpet without a trace of the impurity? Is the dryness of the ground sufficient to remove the impurity? Is it enough to wipe the ground with a wet mop to purify it?

The transmission of impurity from a dry, impure prayer rug to a wet foot, and then to the ground, is a matter of scholarly disagreement.

As for the purification of the ground and what is connected to it by drying, this is also a matter of disagreement. The majority of scholars hold that the ground is not purified by drying; rather, the impurity must be washed away by pouring water. The view of the majority is the more cautious one.
