How can one distinguish correct scientific interpretations of Quranic verses, especially given the existence of multiple and conflicting interpretations for some verses, such as His — Exalted be He — saying: "And the sun runs on to its term appointed; that is the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing," where scholars differ in interpreting "its term appointed"?

Scientific facts cannot contradict religious texts. If a contradiction appears, then either the texts are incorrect or have been misinterpreted, or the scientific data is incorrect. Sheikh Al-Zindani affirms that there is no contradiction between the definitive truth of revelation and the definitive truth of empirical science. If one appears, it is due to a flaw in the definitiveness of one of them. The Quran is in a clear Arabic tongue, and its truths may become manifest with time, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿For every tiding there is a term of settlement, and you will soon know.﴾ (Al-An'am: 67). Interpretation may contradict scientific facts if it is not based on revelation. The correct scientific interpretation is that which is based on texts whose authenticity and meaning are definitive, or which corresponds to verified reality.
