Abdullah ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, was one of the Companions who narrated many hadiths, and he narrated 1696 hadiths. This is not surprising, for the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, supplicated for him to be granted understanding and knowledge, saying: "O Allah, grant him understanding in the religion and teach him interpretation."
