What is the ruling on selling collectibles that have pictures of cartoon character faces on them, such as (Doraemon, Sally, and Tom and Jerry)?

The default ruling is that it is forbidden to draw images of animate beings. However, an incomplete image, such as a head without the rest of the body, has been permitted by a group of scholars. If a part of the image is removed such that the animal cannot survive after its removal, or if a head is made separate from its body, it does not fall under the prohibition, because the image does not remain after its removal. Similarly, if the image is headless, or a head without a body, or a head with the rest of the body being the image of a non-animal, then there is no harm in placing these images on products and selling them.
