What is the expiation for an oath (kaffarat al-yameen) for an expatriate in a village where there are no poor Muslims? Is it permissible to delay it? The ruling on expiation for an oath does not differ among people. Whoever does not find poor Muslims in their country can send the expiation to another country or postpone it. Fasting is not prescribed except after being unable to feed, clothe, or free a slave. If you are unable to do these, then complete the Ramadan fast and fast afterwards. As for merely intending in the heart without uttering, there is no expiation for it.
