Are the regular Sunnah prayers performed during travel or not, even though shortening the prayer is better?

It was part of the Prophet's guidance (peace and blessings be upon him) while traveling to restrict himself to the obligatory prayers. It has not been preserved from him that he used to pray the regular Sunnah (definition) prayers, neither before nor after the obligatory ones, except for the Sunnah of Fajr and Witr. Indeed, he never abandoned them, whether at home or traveling, and several authentic Hadiths indicate this.

It is permissible for a traveler to maintain the Witr prayer, the night vigil (Qiyam (definition) al-Layl), and the Duha prayer, as well as any prayer with a specific reason, such as prayer after every ablution, the prayer of repentance, the greeting of the mosque (Tahiyyat al-Masjid), the two rak'ahs of circumambulation (Tawaf (definition)), and others. Similarly, unrestricted voluntary prayers (nafl mutlaq) are permissible.
