The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, linguistically called it "fuwaysiqan" (a small transgressor), meaning it deviates from its like by increasing harm, not in the jurisprudential sense of transgression. Killing it is permissible due to its harm and because it blew on the fire against Abraham, peace be upon him. The gecko's skin does not prevent the truthfulness of the report, for Allah is capable of making it withstand fire. The generalization of the ruling to the entire genus of geckos came in honor of Abraham. The author is advised to look into his distorted religion instead of questioning the rulings of Islam.
