Does donating stagnant goods that have remained unsold for years, while new goods are available, count as giving away the corrupt of one's wealth?

It is permissible to give merchandise as charity, even if it is not of good quality, and the reward from Allah the Almighty is greater the better the charity is. The dislike of giving away bad quality items as charity diminishes if the giver cannot find anything else, or if he did not specifically intend it for charity, as some jurists have mentioned. Some exegetes are of the opinion that what is meant by "al-khabith" (the bad/evil) in the verse is that which is unlawful. Giving these clothes as charity is more preferable than destroying them, as that would be extravagance and wastefulness.
