This book is an explanation of the epistle of Abu al-Qasim al-Qushayri, but it contains what the original has of problematic aspects; such as Al-Qushayri's adherence to the Ash'ari school of thought in foundational principles, and his allegorical interpretation of the attribute of Istiwa' (God's establishment above the Throne) in a way that contradicts the creed of the Ahl al-Sunnah wal Jama'ah regarding God's Highness and Istiwa', as well as the stories it contains about some shaykhs and weak hadiths, and a stance on means that contravenes the apparent meanings of the legal evidences.
