Is supplicating for the removal of the husband's family and moving to an independent home considered a severance of kinship ties or a sin, and is there hope for this supplication to be answered?

A woman has the right to an independent dwelling, away from her husband's family, even if they cause no harm. If the husband does not provide this for her, she has the right to demand it and may refuse him until he grants her right. However, it is advisable to consider the husband's financial circumstances; if his current situation does not permit it, then patience is better. As for supplication (dua), it should be for Allah to grant her an independent home, not for the removal of her husband's family.
