Is it obligatory to pay Zakat again if spending it on purchasing school supplies, fans, building classrooms, and buying copies of the Qur’an, clothes, and food supplies for students and those in need, is impermissible?

It is permissible to give Zakat in the form of school uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and food items. Similarly, purchasing books and school supplies for poor students is allowed, even if they are not religious books, as long as their benefit is permissible. However, it is not permissible to pay Zakat for building classrooms or purchasing fans for the school. This portion of Zakat must be re-issued, unless the person had relied on a previous fatwa that permitted it.
