How can one repair the damage inflicted upon a woman for whom evil was wished and whom one envied, and that befell her, while now feeling remorse?
Envy is a sin from which repentance is accepted through seeking forgiveness, feeling remorse, and refraining from returning to it. Repentance does not depend on seeking absolution from the envied person unless harm has resulted from the envy. However, if the envy has led to the envied person being afflicted by the evil eye, then the envious person must perform ghusl (ritual bathing) and pray for the healing of the envied person. It is not necessary to inform the envied person of the name of the one who cast the evil eye. It is also recommended to supplicate for the envied person and guide them to ruqyah (Islamic exorcism/healing) and the means that ward off envy.
