If a person mistakenly buys land and builds upon it, and then it becomes clear that it belongs to another, there are three solutions for him: 1. The current owner pays the builder the value of what he built standing. 2. If the owner refuses that, the builder can pay the owner the value of the land, and the land and building become his property. 3. If the builder refuses, they become partners in the land and building, the owner according to the value of the land, and the builder according to the value of the building.

However, if the land is an endowment (waqf), there is no option but to demolish the building.
