What is the ruling on caricature drawing?

It is forbidden to draw living beings, whether they have a shadow like statues or no shadow like caricatures and other drawings, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, the most severely punished people on the Day of Resurrection will be the image-makers" and "Indeed, those who make these images will be tormented on the Day of Resurrection." It is permissible to draw inanimate objects such as trees, the sun, the moon, and natural landscapes. A Muslim is advised to spend their time in what benefits them in the Hereafter.
