Naming a girl "Shahd" is permissible and good. If the wife does not agree with the husband on the name, then naming is the father's right, and this should not be a cause for dispute. As for disliking the name "Hafsa" for the reason mentioned, there is no sin in it, but exaggeration in love and hatred is blameworthy. Hatred should be for the abominable acts or bad morals a person is characterized by, not for their person or name itself.
