Is it permissible or forbidden to go to a shaykh to find out if a person is bewitched or has had a charm made for them?
If the shaykh performs ruqyah according to the Sharia, then there is no harm in going to him. However, if he is a sorcerer or a charlatan, it is not permissible to go to him, or to ask him, or to believe him, because of the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "Whoever goes to a soothsayer or a diviner and believes what he says has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad," and his saying: "Whoever goes to a diviner and asks him about something, his prayer will not be accepted for forty nights."
